C. Richard Lin received the B.S. and M.S. degrees from the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, in 1987 and 1989 respectively, and received his Ph.D. degree from the Computer Science Department, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), in 1996. Since August 2000, Richard has been with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, National Sun Yat-Sen University, Taiwan. His research interests include the embedded operating systems design and implementation for SOC (System-on-Chip), network protocol analysis and implementation, and mobile Internet.

Richard is an ACM member. He received the 2001 Junior Professor Research Award from National Sun Yat-Sen University and the 2000 Investigative Research Award from the Pan Wen Yuan Foundation, Taiwan, ROC.
